When I started my brand consulting company two years ago, I imagined helping companies find clear strategic direction through my simple philosophy of What? So What? and Now What? To get the word out, I wanted to start a blog about how we as product managers, market researchers, and business owners can evolve our company and NPD processes. While my business slowly made it off the ground, something held me back from blogging. Maybe my blog just seemed insignificant in the wake of the struggles among friends and colleagues and the barrage of negative media about the plight of small businesses, the death of new products, and corporate scandals. So what changed my mind?
I decided the wave of negativity holding me back is probably holding all of us back. We all need more than just tools to get our jobs done. We need inspiration every day to keep moving forward. Therefore, this blog is about featuring the “Davids” among us in this Goliath of an economy. Whether you are a small company in a big corporate world or an innovative voice in a stagnant industry, I want to share your story. Along the way I hope each of us will be inspired to persevere in our own path to evolving new products.
